Job Summary
Develop and implement short- and long-term business development strategies to accelerate growth with sustained profitability in line with the Annual Business Plan. Identify sales leads, seek new business opportunities, and pitch goods or services to both new and existing clients. Ensure market coverage, product visibility, and achievement of sales targets across assigned territories and brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse account performance and develop strategies to improve sales figures, achieving targets by market and brand.
- Identify market trends, monitor competitor activities, and explore new opportunities to maximize sales growth.
- Manage both existing sales pipelines and develop new business opportunities leveraging market knowledge and local networks.
- Prepare annual sales forecasts by market and brand by SKU in alignment with sell-out data and in close coordination with distributors.
- Track performance, ensuring coverage, shelf availability, and product visibility as per product line portfolio through regular market visits.
- Analyse sales and stock availability in each region/territory and monitor secondary and tertiary sales frequently to ensure adequate coverage and improved distribution depth.
- Fulfil sales orders efficiently through proactive relationship management.
- Work closely with business heads to optimize product positioning and drive business growth.
- Collaborate with marketing and business teams to conceptualize, plan, and implement brand promotion cycles along with necessary collaterals.
- Ensure the distributors sales team executes planned BTL activities, merchandising, and trade marketing strategies.
- Generate product and sales reports by analysing various sales data and present findings to management to support key business decisions.
- Anticipate risks and opportunities in the sales channels, implementing timely problem-solving measures.
- Provide support to customers through sales calls, product training, and marketing briefings.
- Work closely with the distributors to disseminate sales targets months wise, salesperson wise, brand wise and pack wise as relevant in line with the business plan.
- Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or a related field
- 5–7 years of proven experience in international business development within the FMCG industry, with a strong track record in key client relationships, driving sales growth and expanding market presence.
- Familiarity with IT systems, including experience working with ERP or Oracle systems, is advantageous.
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities to interpret complex data and inform strategic decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and a solid understanding of international trade regulations and market dynamics.
